My Work

Here are just a few samples of my work. This being a new site, I’m continuing to add to the collection here. All pieces are the property of their respective publications:

Most of my work with Supply Chain Management Review was as an editor, but I wrote several pieces, too. Here are a couple of examples:

Software as a service: Right for you?

The Supply Chain in 2008

Here is one of the stories that ran as part of a series in Foster’s Sunday Citizen about hospice. A Dover man generously allowed us to document the services a local hospice group offered him in the final months of his life. The series earned myself and then-chief photographer Mike Ross a New England Press Association award for best health reporting in 2004.

The Last Fishing Trip

Some police stories here. The first one came from a police beat I worked for the Daily News Transcript. The story was picked up by the Boston Herald, which was part of the newspaper group at the time, and got national attention for a week. I follow that with a feature story about the anniversary of the only police officer ever killed in the line of duty in one of the towns I covered. Finally, a straight cop story about a nasty drug bust in a small New Hampshire town.

Foul Tip

Memories of a Fallen Father

Police Discover Deadly Drug Lab Near School

These are some of the stories I wrote for Foster’s Daily Democrat as the priest abuse scandal was breaking in New Hampshire, starting in February of 2002, just a few months after The Boston Globe ran its landmark series of articles on the same subject in Massachusetts:

Aube Files Show Diocese Failed to Act

Abuse and Cover-Up

AG Releases Documents Detailing Priest Abuse

Abuser Went On To Teach

Here is a series of stories I did about a murder trial in Massachusetts for the Daily News Transcript:

Day 1: Trial begins

Day 2: Jury chosen

Day 3: Testimony of victim’s family

Day 4: Defendant’s habits

Day 5: DNA evidence

Day 6: Bite mark evidence

Day 7: Cops accused of error

Day 8: Cellmate testifies

Day 9: Wrong man arrested

Day 10: Closing arguments

Day 11: Guilty
